Renewing Education
*The state needs to recognize that every school district is different. There cannot be one set of criteria to determine all state aid. Individual school boards deserve enough autonomy to formulate their own lessons and methods for teaching their students.
*Districts should not be publicly rated simply based on Ohio Graduation Test (OGT) performance. Emphasis should be given to individual districts' varying teaching styles, and recognize districts that provide new and valuable techniques to their students. We should no longer spend high school years "teaching the test."
*Students in failing districts do not need to settle for underperformance. Private vouchers should be offered by the state to families who want to send their students to schools that would otherwise be out of reach.
